Our Little Sister apartment is in the Grove Park neighborhood, but despite that fact, we rarely visit the Grove Park Inn. However with Canadian vistors staying with us last week, we decided to go over to watch the sunset from their terrace and enjoy a glass of wine. There were four adults and two teenagers in our group, and I would say that we ALL really enjoyed the experience. I was really impressed with the improvements the Inn has made since my last visit, primarily with the terrace that is now open allowing people to enjoy the spectacular view without having to eat dinner. There is plenty of outdoor seating and our servers could not have been nicer to us – the kids enjoyed hot chocolate and cake, while the adults enjoyed wine with snacks of olives and homemade potato chips. I will start suggesting to my guests that they take the short ten minute walk to the inn to enjoy the view, the food, and the spa if they need some pampering. I also enjoy the huge roaring fireplaces in the lobby and perusing the photos in the hallways of various historic figures that have stayed there including Helen Keller, Eleanor Roosevelt and various former American Presidents.
